01 / Why we exist

Start with the individual.
Build from what we share.

Each of us experiences life from our own point of view. No one else can live it for us. The Planet Party's goal is to make that individual experience of being human better.

Our humanity is lived through love, humour, loss, trust, creativity and our connection to other people. No single capability or definition captures the whole of that experience.

Politics often organises people around the characteristics that separate them. We start with the ones we share: the search for purpose, connection, security and the freedom to build a life.

That common foundation gives us a reason to work for one another. We value personal ambition, effort and achievement. We also recognise mutual support and a responsibility to contribute what we can.

Power is shifting. AI is changing what we can do. The Planet Party is growing in Ireland to bring this perspective into politics, technology and economic life.

Three commitments.

The starting point for our decisions.

01

Start with
the person.

Politics should improve the life each person actually experiences. Our common human needs provide a starting point for working together across our differences.

02

Question
the reaction.

Fear, pride and the need for certainty can turn disagreement into hostility. Recognise the impulse. Question it before it becomes a position.

03

Contribute to
a shared future.

Respect enterprise and achievement. Help people recover from setbacks. Contribute what we can. Build conditions in which more people can make something of their lives.

Our purpose guides every position.

Our purpose is better individual lives, through a politics built on shared human experience. We judge each issue on its merits, explain our reasoning and change our approach when evidence or experience justifies it. We take responsibility for what we say and do.

02 / AI and humanity

AI is technology.
Humanity is different.

The Planet Party believes AI and humanity are fundamentally different.

Our humanity is lived: through love, loss, memory, imagination and our connection to other people. It cannot be reduced to intelligence, computation or decision-making.

We support AI that helps people learn, create, care and explore. Its value lies in the human lives it improves.

03 / Our economic outlook

Room to achieve.
Responsibility to contribute.

We support a market economy with room to build, innovate and succeed. We recognise that opportunity and security are unevenly shared.

Shared humanity does not require identical lives, achievements or rewards. We value ambition and effort, support one another through hard times, and contribute in the ways and to the extent we can.

We believe better balance is inevitable. We see shared human understanding, individual initiative and mutual contribution as the forces that bring it about. Work, enterprise, care, skill and knowledge all count. Money organises exchange; human effort, trust and connection give it purpose.

Human energy, the currency of life consciousness
A phrase for the effort, care and connection that sustain a society.

04 / Founding statement

Human first.
Further, together.

The Planet Party is growing in Ireland. Our purpose is to make individual lives better through a politics built on what we share as human beings.

Each of us experiences life from our own point of view. Our circumstances and abilities differ. The characteristics that matter most to this party are the ones we have in common: our search for purpose, connection, security and the freedom to build a life. Our humanity is lived through love, humour, loss, trust, creativity and our connection to other people. No single capability or definition captures the whole of that experience.

Fear, pride and the need for certainty can turn difference into hostility. The same pattern can divide individuals, families, communities and nations. We can recognise those reactions, question them and choose how we act.

We believe AI and humanity are fundamentally different. AI is a technology. Our humanity cannot be reduced to intelligence, computation or decision-making. Technology should serve human lives.

We value enterprise, effort and achievement. Shared humanity does not mean identical lives or rewards. We support one another through hard times and contribute what we can.

Our purpose guides every position. We judge each issue on its merits, explain our reasoning and change our approach when evidence or experience justifies it.

We want better lives now and a shared future worth building: more trust, more freedom, more discovery. From the lives we lead to the universe we have yet to explore.

05 / The spirit of the party

A serious purpose.
Room to enjoy life.

There is another meaning in the name. A room full of strangers can find a common rhythm. We want more of that trust, freedom and enjoyment in the lives we build together.
